Spring 2020 Move-Out: June 10 - July 15
MOVE-OUT DATES AND SCHEDULING PROCESS
-
Move-out will begin Wednesday, June 10 and continue through Wednesday, July 15.
While you are invited to begin moving out starting June 10, please keep in
mind that your lease runs through July 15. Moving out prior to July 15 will
not absolve you from paying June or July rent.
- Residents should login at myhousing.wvu.edu/universityapartments/ to select a time slot. Only spaces in their apartment community will be available for selection. WVU login credentials are required to complete the registration process.
- Time slots are available Monday - Saturday and will have a three-hour window for move-out. Time slots are not available on Sundays.
- Residents should plan to complete move-out and check-out within the time
slot.
- You will receive an email 48 hours ahead of your scheduled time slot with detailed
instructions for moving out of your apartment. They are also listed below for
your reference.
- Registration changes may be made up 48 hours prior to arrival; students may access the system to make any changes prior to the 48-hour window. To change your registration within 48 hours, students should email universityapartments@mail.wvu.edu for instructions.
- Residents unable to return between June 10 and July 15 due to extreme circumstances should email University Apartments at universityapartments@mail.wvu.edu. Someone from their specific apartment community will contact them directly.
HEALTH AND SAFETY MEASURES
- Please practice all social distancing protocols, including keeping a safe distance apart (usually 6 feet) and maintain good personal hygiene (i.e., handwashing, wiping down high-touch areas) while moving out of your apartment.
- Please only bring one guest to help you with move out, if possible. Residents need to be prepared to identify who is assisting them. This is to ensure appropriate social distancing and to assist the University in keeping track of the number of nonresidents who are in each building at a given time.
- We also encourage roommates to not choose the same time slot to move out to allow for proper social distancing within your apartment.
- Personal protective equipment is required in all public areas.
- Please bring personal protective equipment, including a mask and gloves, for each person participating in move-out. The CDC has guidelines on cloth face coverings which help slow the spread of COVID-19. (Each community will have a limited supply of masks and gloves.)
